Pay It Forward - Help a family Get Unstuck
Most gifts for a new baby go to the baby.
This one goes to the mother. Not just any mother, one who wouldn't otherwise get the help she needs.
Baby Planner SG's Pay It Forward Support Programme buys postpartum support for women in Singapore who need it and aren't in a position to book it.
Where the Support Comes From
Three routes in, all ending up in the same pool.
Families who didn't use everything they bought
Some buy a package and then find their footing faster than they expected. They figured out feeding; the baby slept; three visits sat unused.
Rather than take a refund, they decide to pass the unused visits on.
People contributing directly
Some past clients recognise the value of the support we can give and have a heart for supporting another family struggling in the difficult fourth trimester season. Others have no history with us, but all of them understand how hard it might be for these families in the thick of the postpartum fog to seek help, so they want to pay it forward.
Unused gift vouchers
Some people were gifted our gift vouchers but have found they did not need our support, so they pay it forward to someone who needs it more.
Who Receives the Support
Some women reach the fourth trimester with almost nothing around them. No family nearby. Money that got tight the same month the baby came. A husband already back at work.
Some spent weeks and months planning and envisioning how their new life with baby will look, but when the baby arrived, nothing went as planned and they feel like a failure, or just completely stuck.
These families rarely ask for help. Some of them don't even realise that's what they need. So, we don't wait for them to. We take nominations from the doctors, nurses, hospital social workers, or just concerned friends/relatives/colleagues, and we place a small number of families each month. But we don't take names without consent from the person who might benefit, and we never contact someone who hasn't asked us to.
We hold space for and support all these families in the weeks after birth, providing them clarity and practical support. Where it would make more difference, the programme can also provide guidance in the weeks before the birth as good preparation and guidance can sometimes change the postpartum months more than a postpartum visit can.
How It Works
Support Hours
Everything contributed converts into a single unit — a Support Hour — so a family can use it in whatever combination actually helps. One might want a night of hands-on help so they can regain their sanity. Another might need support achievable in a short visit to work on a specific issue. Yet another is overthinking through the day, even at 3am, and would rather have someone to message to clear her mind.
Wherever we can, we deliver support in the same form it was contributed: a visit becomes a visit. We only "convert" where a family's circumstances are genuinely better served another way, and we publish the "conversion rates" below so you can see exactly how that works, in both directions.
What you contribute
Stayout Confinement Nanny session (4-5 hours)
Lactation or Weaning session
Pocket Nanny 7-day pass
Pocket Nanny 30-day pass
Every $100 in cash or gift voucher
What a family can receive
Stayout Confinement Nanny session (4-5 hours)
Half Stayout Confinement Nanny session (2 hours)
Short Visit (60-90mins)
Night Nanny Service (8 hours)
Private Prenatal Class (3 hours)
Pocket Nanny 7-day pass
Pocket Nanny 30-day pass
Cash and gift vouchers convert at a slightly better rate than services do. That's deliberate — it means people with no unused package of their own can take part in paying it forward on equal footing.
How to Participate
Passing on visits you already bought — you've paid already, so there's nothing to buy. Just tell us how much to move across.
Contributing money — pick an amount to Pay It Forward and check out. That's the whole thing, no other form filling needed afterwards.
Holding an unused gift voucher? Use it as payment at checkout when making your Pay It Forward Contribution. No other form needed as well!
Rather give to one particular person? Our gift vouchers go directly to someone you name.
A few things worth noting
Baby Planner SG isn't a charity. There's no tax deduction and we can't give you a receipt for one. We'll send you a written acknowledgement of what you contributed.
You won't know who receives it. That's deliberate — families already in a difficult stretch shouldn't have to be visible to anyone in exchange for help.
We provide practical support, not medical or clinical care. Where a family needs more than we can give, we point them to their doctor or an appropriate healthcare provider.
It's final once confirmed. Please see the Full Terms & Conditions (esp Section 6.7) and be sure.
Already have visits with us?
If you'd bought a package, all services are valid for 24 months from date of purchase. If you have visits you're not going to use, you have three options:
Extend them. If there's any chance of a second baby, or a stretch where you'd want a hand again, just say the word. We'll extend everything you've bought by 12 months, no questions asked.
Take a refund. They're your visits and you paid for them. If you don't need them and prefer to get some money back, ask and we'll sort it.
Pass them forward. Worth knowing: a refund is calculated at our lower-tier rate, so four unused visits refund at less than four visits' worth. Passed on, all four go across whole. Your gift is worth more to a family than your refund would be worth to you.

We publish these figures half-yearly at the minimum to stay accountable to our commitment with this Programme. We don't publish anything about the families who receive support.
If you're the one who needs support, or you know someone who might, message us or read more here. There's nothing to prove and nobody finds out.
